I am a therapist and somatic worker who collaborates with individuals looking to focus on their capabilities, to enhance their lives and find ways to savor this one life that each of us is given. Before becoming a mom, I was active in endurance sports and have a daily yoga practice. I believe one of the most important aspects of growth is making healthy lifestyle choices. I have a passion for working with moms, as I believe it is the most important role one can have in this life. It is also the most rewarding and the most challenging role.
Therapy is a unique opportunity to be vulnerable and learn to experience a healthy, professional relationship with a foundation of trust and compassionate experience. I want to collaborate with you as you focus on your capabilities, to enhance your life and, yes, savor it. I don’t believe that therapy is meant to be a drudging of past experiences at the expense of remembering your inherent resources and resilience.
I have worked for over 20 years as a social worker/therapist and have seen people transform their lives through the work I have been privileged to witness and be a part of with them. I am trained in traditional CBT, Motivational Interviewing and DBT, Gottman (Bringing Baby Home), Postpartum Support International (Perinatal Needs) certifications as well as Somatic Experiencing, Trauma Informed Yoga and EMDR. I offer my time, skills, presence and perspective with you so that you will learn what you need to feel fulfilled and gain skills that will bring about happiness in your life.
I am licensed in Colorado, Arizona and Wisconsin and offer teletherapy.
You may feel like life has been painful and chaotic, we help you find steady ground. At Intermountain Counseling, we view you considering therapy as significant and your openness to the sharing of your story as a unique decision in your pursuit of the life you want. Therefore, we offer a free consultation so that we can better understand how to come alongside you or your loved one, make sure we are the right fit, and tailor our therapy to be as useful as possible to you.
Located in north Colorado Springs, Intermountain Counseling provides therapy for teenagers, adults, and couples. We specialize in therapy for anxiety, depression, anger management, stress and burnout, and trauma. There isn’t any single approach that is always right for every client, situation, or issue, so we look at each unique situation and use the modality most helpful for it; nothing is cookie-cutter in how we help our clients. In every approach, we only use evidenced-based modalities that we know are well researched and effective in helping clients. We want to do our very best for every client that we work with, and we would be more than happy to talk with you about how we could come alongside you or your loved one. Working together, you can find groundedness again.
Intermountain Counseling was founded as a private practice by Rob Carlson, LPC. In more recent years, the practice expanded into a group and is now a team of therapists whose vision is to create an interdependent and flourishing community by helping people learn, adapt, and grow into healthier ways of being.
